Happy New Year and I wish everyone a blessed 2009. I would like to share some memorable moments I had in Japan as 2008 drew to a close. (Alright, so there were a lot more food moments than bag moments!)

Natalie Portman is one of my favourite fashion icons. So when she’s spotted on the red carpet and events wearing Lanvin and more Lanvin, naturally you want to check out Alber Elbaz - the designer for Lanvin. Alber Elbaz creates modern feminine clothes for the practical woman. Just look at the Spring/Summer 2009 ready-to-wear runway [...]

YSL may not be for everyone. But when you start a YSL, you always get slightly anxious in anticipation of the next season’s collection. My first YSL was a Mombasa which hit the stores in 2001. When I saw in a mag Gywneth Paltrow photographed carrying this leather bag with a deer-horn handle, I was [...]

I own 2 Birkins and they do get their duly deserved attention on days when I take them out for lunch or shopping. What is the allure of the Hermes Birkin? More than 5 different clients have asked me if I have Birkins for sale since Six&Seven started operations 3 weeks ago. I received a [...]

I spotted a Valextra today! On the arm of a well-known banker who is occasionally featured in our local Tatler. The piece she had is the S-series overnight case in off-white, also recently featured in the telegraph online. Prior to my most recent Europe trip, my knowledge of Valextra was limited to online resources and most of it [...]

My love for Fendi began with the jacquard double FF logo Baguette, and it was then, in 1997, that a new era for the It bag began, and I purchased my first with silver hardware. The size fitted me just right, I am petite, and it fitted snugly under my arm. The Baguette became bigger [...]

In the handbag dictionary, the french word “Baguette” is synonymous with Fendi. This year Fendi paid tribute to the Baguette celebrating its 10th year anniversary with new materials and new sizes. Re-issues sometimes come across as a desperate cry for attention. In my opinion, Fendi did a wonderful job showcasing the Baguettes on the runway as [...]

I have an obsession for beautiful leather and an obsession for something Bottega recently. The Limited Edition Large Cabat is a piece of beauty. It’s interwoven inside and outside (that makes it 4 layers of divine lamb in total) which makes it supple and strong. Every piece comes with a gold-plated plaque numbered X/500. Bottega has [...]

Why do I like Classics? My first Chanel bag wasn’t a classic. In 2005 when Chanel reissued the 2.55 mademoiselle lock flap bag (the original Coco Chanel designed for herself), I fell in love with Chanel and invested in a distressed white 2.55 reissue. Interestingly, the double cc emblem under the helm of Karl L. is the [...]

The Kelly Pochette in Beige Everswift with gold hardware. VB wears it with her Herve Legers. I’ll use it to chic-up my weekend jeans and vest combi. This is a precious find. Hermes boutiques here do not stock or display. Have 2 of these babies for sale. The other is a black box calf. Who needs a Birkin [...]
